Micromax to Launch 4G Feature Phone (Bharat 1) & SmartPhone (Bharat 2)

Did you remember Micromax? Once the leader in Indian smartphone market has reached its low ranking due to heavy competition from Chinese makers, mainly the entry of Xioami into Indian market has destroyed the base of Micromax. Now the company wants to regain its market share and want reach the glory once it has few years back.

They have previously introduced YU brand mobile with Cynogenmod OS, has failed to gain the share in the Indian Smartphone market. YU initially got more attention but the issues around the mobile and lagging, and not meeting the users expectations has forced to YU to get the failure.

Now Micromax wants to revive its situation by introducing new line of mobiles including 4G Feature phone into Indian Market. The phones will be called Bharat 1 & Bharat 2, of these Bharat 1 will be the Feature phone compatible with 4G network technology and Bharat 2 will be a smartphone running Android ( we are not sure about the Android version ).

Speaking to ET, CEO of Micromax Shubhajit Sen has told that of the two Bharat 2 is certified by Google, and once it hit the market it will be the cheapest Android 4G mobile available in the market and backed by a well know brand. The phone will be launched around the end of the March or April, and also they might launch its most premium and hight end phone till date with metal body and possibly a dual camera setup.

Coming to the Feature phone which is powered by 4G will be launched a few weeks after the introduction of the Bharat 2. Bharat 1 will be only feature phone with 4G compatibility till the Reliance JIO drops its rumored 4G feature phone which may hit the markets in coming 2 to 3 months.
